Book of the…Moment

A while back I wrote a post called Book of the Month. I think that was February. But I’ve not been consistently reading books monthly. Some months I didn’t read any books…lately I’ve been shooting through them. In July I think I ready 3 books. So now we’re at Book of the Moment. 🤓

I love reading! I will always choose reading the book over the movie. And sometime I refuse to watch the movie at all. Especially if I’ve read the book or plan on it. I always end up feeling disappointed at the movie.

So what one reading at this moment-

The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews.  It’s about a family, mother (Riley) and 13 year old daughter (Maggy) who spend the summer on a small island off of North Carolina (I think NC) and the father (Wendell) visits on the weekends. Riley and Maggy are headed to the island on Memorial Day weekend to start their summer. Wendell is supposed to meet them at the ferry to head to the island, but he doesn’t show up. Now there is a body found at the marina, and some other business problems that Wendell was having are coming to light.

I am loving this book! I can’t put it down. I’m so excited to see where this goes.

Book of the Month

Around New Years I overheard someone say that their resolution was to read one book per month. What a great idea!! I love to read, and a lot of times I’ll read several books in a week. But sometimes I will go weeks or months without reading a book. I love this idea because you are only committing to 1 book- but you can read more if you’d like. Also, 1 trip to the bookstore every month is not going to hurt my wallet.

So my latest book is What Alice Forgot, by Liane Moriarty.  I really enjoyed it!!  It kept my attention, has a good story and likeable characters.  The sister was a little depressing. I found myself stopping when it came to her chapters.

I have loved everything I’ve read by Liane Moriarty. Her books take place in Australia, which I find so interesting.

I would love to hear your thoughts on What Alice Forgot.   Or any of Moriartys other books. Also, would love suggestions for my next read. 🙂
