Meet my Furballs

I always talk about my pets, but I’ve never officially introduced them. Pets are such an important part of family, our home would feel so strange without them.  I thought these guys deserved a post all of their own.

Meet Pearl

Pearl is the first pet we brought to our home. The girls were 3 and almost 1 when Pearl came to live with us. M picked her name- her full name is Princess Pearl Shelly. Princess Pearl was chosen from Spongebob Squarepants (M’s favorite show at the time) and Shelly was her name at the animal shelter where we got her. Pearl just had her 12th birthday at the end of September. She enjoys short walks around our neighborhood, napping and snacking on Milkbones.

Meet Tom

Tom is the first cat we brought into our home. He was found, as a kitten, by one of my aunts at the end of their driveway on a busy road. He is such a sweetheart, always purring from the first moment we met him.  Tom celebrated his 8th birthday in July.  He enjoys long naps, cuddling and stalking his nemesis- the red dot.

Meet Sassy

Sassy is our big, beautiful girl. This picture does not show how large she really is. She was given to M as a birthday gift by one of her friends. She just celebrated her 2nd birthday in July. Sassy is a sweetheart with a mean streak. She enjoys attention but only on her terms.  Sassy’s favorite things are eating, snacking, napping and hiding from people.

Meet Milo

Milo is the latest addition to our family. M brought him home and he lived here for 3 days before I realized.  Milo will be 1 in April 2018. He is still a kitten and has a lot of fun playing with his toys and tormenting the other cats and dog. He enjoys sitting in the windows, meowing loudly and chasing the broom while I’m sweeping.

So those are my fur balls. They really are part of our family. I love that they all have their different personalities.  And here is proof that that all love each other too ❤️(with the exception of Pearl)

Scorpion !!!!

So…I found a scorpion in my house today.  This is the second one in less than a week. I am in panic mode over here. I know that the desert is filled with creepy crawlies. But- I hate all things that creep and crawl! Ugh.

Luckily the two scorpions that I’ve found were both dead.  That means that something killed them and I’m thinking it was one of our kitties. Scorpions are venomous and I hope they are ok. If I see either of them acting oddly I will call the vet right away.

My heroic kitties 😻

Look at that thing!!!! It gives me shivers just thinking about it. Ewwwwwwwww

I guess that’s all for today. I just wanted to share this unfortunate event. 😱
